Tom Welling laughs off nude Instagram selfie after reflection mishap

Tom Welling accidentally shared an Instagram Story of the New York City skyline that also appeared to show his nude reflection in a hotel window – but luckily saw the funny side.

The 49-year-old actor posted the snap to his Instagram Stories on Friday (9 October) ahead of New York Comic Con, with the caption “Hello NYCC.” Welling’s reflection was visible in the glass, and followers quickly spotted what looked like he had posted a rather different view.

The Story was deleted a few hours later, though the image has continued to circulate on social media.

But Welling leaned into the mishap, commenting “came for the sights” under a reel poking fun at the post.

‘Just looking after my boy’

Welling’s former Smallville co-star Michael Rosenbaum, who played Lex Luthor, recreated the hotel-window photo.

Rosenbaum posed in his pants and held a sign reading “perverts” over his lower body, captioning the post: “Just looking after my boy @tomwelling.” Welling later reshared the post to his own Instagram Stories.

Tom Welling in Smallville reunion

Welling was in New York for NYCC, where he appeared on Saturday (10 October) for a Smallville reunion panel titled ‘The Road to Superman: 25 Years of Smallville‘, alongside Rosenbaum, Kristin Kreuk and Erica Durance.

First airing in 2001, Smallville charted Clark Kent’s life in the years before he became Superman. Welling played the character throughout the show’s 10-season run, which concluded in 2011.
