Heated Rivalry season 2 gets major update
Connor Storrie as Ilya and Hudson Williams as Shane in Heated Rivalry (HBO/Crave)
Heated Rivalry season 2 is set to start filming in a matter of weeks in Canada, with details of the plot being revealed.
Fans have been excited at the upcoming season, expected to air in 2027, after falling in love with Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie) late last year. The actors’ star-power has skyrocketed since then, with them both attending the Met Gala earlier this month.
And while they have both made it clear with fans they are individuals and avoid being pictured too much together at events, excitement will surely be building that they will soon be reuniting on-camera.
According to Production List, filming for Heated Rivalry season two will take place in July across Toronto and Montreal in Canada.
The season’s synopsis on the site reads: “Two rival hockey superstars, disciplined Shane Hollander and cocky Ilya Rozanov, face unexpected feelings amid intense professional pressure. As secret hookups before harder to hide, Shane and Ilya must confront whether their relationship is worth risking their careers.”
Of course, the synopsis will come as no surprise to people who have read the source material. Though they will certainly be excited at the prospect of some key moments hopefully making it to screens.
Season two, based on the sixth book in Rachel Reid’s Game Changers novel series, called The Long Game, is reportedly set to feature a number of other characters whose lives are explored in the books.
An apparently leaked casting call from March of this year listed new characters including: Ryan Price, Fabian Salah, Eric Bennett, Harris Drover, Troy Barrett, Dallas Kent, Wyatt Hayes, Lucas Haas, and Dr Galina Molchalina.
In the books, Eric Bennett falls for the character Kyle, who was already introduced in season one. If that story remains the same, and no recasts happen, Kyle should be played by Matthew Finlan.
Rumours of who else will be joining have been heating up, with Adults star Jack Innanen confirming he’d been in conversation about signing on the dotted line.
