Duran Duran, Nile Rogers Unveil New Song ‘Free To Love’
Keyboardist Nick Rhodes called the band’s latest collaboration a “call to all the people out there who want peace, hope and understanding to prevail”
Duran Duran revealed their first new music of 2026 on Thursday, “Free to Love,” their disco-fueled single featuring longtime collaborator Nile Rodgers.
“Every time we plug in and play with Nile, the electricity he generates could light up a whole city. We share a common belief that music is a force for good and something that brings positive energy into the world,” keyboardist Nick Rhodes said in a statement. The musician called the new track the band’s “call to all the people out there who want peace, hope and understanding to prevail” and an “anthem for freedom.”
“Free to Love” is the latest in the band’s long line of collaborations with Rodgers that first
began with a remix of the band’s 1984 track “The Reflex,” the group’s first song to top the Billboard Hot 100.
Rodgers echoed Rhodes’ words and said, “My love for Duran Duran and what our music together has always been about is the love we share for our song’s deepest meanings.” Rodgers added, “Whatever chaos is going on outside, inside the studio we’re free to love our peace.”
The song arrived alongside a music video directed by Jonas Åkerlund and stars British broadcaster and personality Clara Amfo. In the video, the band delivers the nostalgic-driven track amid a glittering disco party. Last month, Duran Duran announced that they will top the bill at London’s BST Hyde Park for the second time on July 5 with special guests Scissor Sisters. Duran Duran previously headlined the event in 2022 and last summer, joined Sabrina Carpenter during the pop singer’s second night at BST as surprise guests to perform “Hungry Like the Wolf.”
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees are set to headline California’s Beachlife Festival, followed by a multi-night Las Vegas residency at the Fontainebleau that will be followed by a month-long run through Europe.
