Alix Earle, Today Show Host Dylan Dreyer Are Related, Second Cousins

Dylan Dreyer is forecasting a family reunion in her future. 

The Today anchor revealed she and Alix Earle share a family connection while interviewing the influencer on Today May 12.

As Dylan explained to cohosts Al Roker and Craig Melvin, “We’re second cousins.”

“Growing up, your dad is like one of seven. You have lots of brothers and sisters,” Dylan told Alix of her dad, Thomas “TJ” Earle, who is Dylan’s first cousin. “You have a million cousins. The Christmas card, when it arrives every year, there’s like 100 people in it.”

Alix—who has four siblings, including fellow influencer Ashtin Earle—agreed, saying, “My family’s huge.”

In addition to confirming they’re related, Alix confessed that she almost pursued a career in broadcast journalism because of watching her cousin on TV “all the time” when she was growing up. 

“I took a broadcasting course in college, or it was a little club after school. And I was not very good at it, so I quit,” the Dancing With the Stars alum laughed. “But I always wanted to be just like you.”
