A Stylish Guide to Fall, The Montreal Way

There’s a certain ease to Montreal style, a mix of European influence, creative expression and understated, classic cool that feels especially fitting come fall. Beyond the city’s architectural charm and bustling cultural calendar, its fashion community offers plenty of inspiration for the season ahead.

We asked three of Montreal’s most stylish creators — Elizabeth Gomez Garcia, Journalist and Content Creator; Michel-Ange Ligondé, Creative Director and Content Creator; and Zac Courchesne, Fashion Influencer — to share their take on building your most fashionable must-knows, the Montreal way.

From the local destinations worth adding to your itinerary to the fall pieces they swear by and the scents they’re reaching for, consider this your insider’s guide to the city’s style scene, as told by the people who know it best.

Elizabeth Gomez Garcia, Journalist and Content Creator

Montreal Hotspot: “Restaurant Île-de-France, also known as Le 9e, located on the ninth floor of the Eaton Centre, is one of my favourite Montreal spots. I always return for its exceptional food, its stunning art deco style and the rich history that lives within its walls.”

Favourite Neighbourhood: “The Plateau, hands down. It hits that sweet spot between trend and individuality, effortless and authentic.”

Michel-Ange Ligondé, Content Creator and Creative Director

Montreal Hot Spot: “I’ve been spending a lot of time at Lakafe. It’s a great place to work, enjoy good food and sip an excellent matcha.”

Favourite Neighbourhood: “Mile End. It has the most authentic mix of vintage, contemporary and independent fashion. People there dress for themselves rather than trends.”

Zac Courchesne, Fashion Influencer

Montreal Hot Spot: “Cappello, for its carafe of dirty martinis served with chips. A true ‘salty girl’ dream.”

Favourite Neighbourhood:“Old Montreal, without hesitation. Where the Plateau leans classic street style, Old Montreal is more assertive, more editorial.”

Local-Brand Love: “École de Pensée offers exceptional quality and thoughtfully designed pieces.”
