Right-wing Fox News host Jesse Watters has said that he doesn’t trust bisexual women following Supergirl star Milly Alcock’s comments about her character’s sexuality.
Alcock delighted sapphic Supergirl fans earlier this week when she suggested that Kara Zor-El might “go both ways”. However, some people were less than happy about the musing.
The actress’ short and sweet comments prompted Watters to go on a bizarre rant about bisexual women during a 25 June episode of his Fox News show The Five.
“No man will ever see this movie,” he said of the film, which premieres in cinemas today (26 June). “And most women won’t see it. The ones that do, there’s just not enough of them to make money from the movie, if you know what I mean.”
He continued: “But the whole bisexual thing… guys don’t get into that. Maybe that’s cool when you’re 18, but when a girl’s bisexual, we don’t trust her. We don’t trust her. And the ones I’ve met are super weird. So to say you’re bisexual, it’s not a turn on. It’s not a turn on.”
When asked by his co-host whether bisexual women were actually trying to turn him off, Watters said: “I hadn’t considered that,” to laughter in the studio.
Many internet users called Watters out for his strange comments.
“Why does [Jesse Watters] obsess over other people’s sexuality so much? It’s f****** weird,” one user wrote.
“Why do ‘conservatives’ focus on gay sex more than gay people?” said another.
A third added: “Is this guy that stupid or does he play stupid to have a show?”
