Sting Announces ‘Sting 3.0’ Tour Dates With New Trio

Sting announced that he’ll be hitting the road this fall as part of his Sting 3.0 tour with drummer Chris Maas (who previously collaborated with Mumford & Sons and Maggie Rogers) and guitarist Dominic Miller, his longtime collaborator.

While the frontman won’t heading on a reunion tour with his former Police bandmates, Sting 3.0 promises to celebrate “a new dynamic era showcasing selections from his vast catalog through the urgent lens of a tight three-piece combo.”

Members of Sting’s fan club will get first dibs to pre-sale tickets on sting.com starting Monday, followed by pre-sales for Citi and American Express members throughout the week. General ticket sales will be available Friday at 10 a.m. local time on the website.

The trek will kick off at the legendary Fillmore in Detroit, Michigan on Sept. 17 and be followed by a string of shows across North America, stopping in cities such as Toronto, Philadelphia, Boston, Brooklyn, Chicago, and San Francisco. The tour is set to wrap in Los Angeles on Nov. 13. at the Wiltern.

Although Police fans may be hoping for another reunion tour, Sting has said that their 2007/08 tour would only happen once. “When the Police reunited, it had been long enough, and it was the right time to do it,” he told Music Week in a 2023 interview. “And I’m taking credit for that because that was my decision. Doing it again would just be gratuitous and that won’t happen. But we did it, and everyone was happy that mum and dad got back together again and had one last fling.”

Last month, Billy Joel and Sting launched their One Night Only slate of co-headlining summer shows in Tampa Bay, with both artists appearing during the other’s set to sing one of their classic songs. During Joel’s set, Sting took to the stage to take the lead on his 1986 hit “Big Man on Mulberry Street,” while the Piano Man joined Sting for a rendition of the Police’s “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic.”
