Jack Black Sings ‘Super Mario Bros. Movie’ Hit at Jonas Bros Concert
The closing night of the Jonas Brothers’ ‘Five Albums. One Night.’ tour turned out to be unforgettable in more ways than one. During the intermission at Saturday night’s show at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, Jack Black suddenly appeared onstage for a surprise performance of The Super Mario Bros. Movie hit ballad “Peaches.”
Black arrived, seemingly out of nowhere, dressed as his character Bowser and sang the ode to Princess Peach. After leading the crowd into his sing-along, Black had but one question for the crowd: “Are you not entertained?”
He then introduced the trio, before simply disappearing. “I just want to say, ever since I was in the jungles of Jumanji, I’ve been a huge fan. And I am so proud to call them my friends,” he yelled as the crowd cheered. “Ladies and gentlemen, give it up… for the Jonas Brothers.”

This spring, the piano ballad became a surprise hit on streaming services, rocketing up digital music charts, so much so that in April, Black teamed with Lyrical Lemonade director Cole Bennett for a music video for the love song to Princess Peach.
As Rolling Stone wrote in our review of the film, “The obvious showstopper is Jack Black as a loquacious Bowser. If it’s possible to chew scenery in a voiceover booth, Black’s take on the King of the Koopas is dining and his Neil Diamond-lite Tenacious D’ing of Bowser as a love-struck tortured artist is a hit. Expect ‘Peaches, Peaches, Peaches’ to soon be a TikTok staple to the chagrin of parents everywhere.”
“Bowser plays an incredible piano ballad that extols his love for Princess Peach,” co-director Aaron Horvath previously said in a statement. “As we were trying to get the point across of Bowser’s feelings for Peach, it seemed more fun, funny and sweet if we had him sing a song about it.”
Saturday night’s concert also provided another surprise appearance, from frequent Jonas Brothers collaborator Ryan Tedder. The Jonas Brothers will continue their tour overseas in February, kicking off in New Zealand.
