Jennifer Lawrence Breaks Silence on Rumors That Liam Hemsworth Cheated on Miley Cyrus With Her
During the latest stop on her No Hard Feelings press tour, Jennifer Lawrence once and for all shut down internet rumors saying that she and her Hunger Games co-star Liam Hemworth had an affair while he was still with Miley Cyrus.
Lawrence was playing Plead the Fifth on Watch What Happens Live when she was asked about the conspiracy theory that Cyrus insinuated in her “Flowers” music video that Hemsworth cheated on her with Lawrence. “Flowers,” of course, is believed to be about Hemsworth. Cyrus wore a gold dress in the visuals, similar to the one Lawrence wore at the premiere of Hunger Games, leading some fans to believe the singer was dropping clues.
Lawrence said bluntly that the affair theory was “not true. Total rumor. We all know me and Liam like kissed one time [off-screen]. It was years after they broke up so I just assume that was like a coincidence.” She then asked the crowd, “Are you satisfied? Yeah, I’m happy to [clear that up].”
Lawrence also spoke about her fashion choices during the show and the time she and Adele went out to a New York City gay bar Pieces. Lawrence, in her own words, was “10 out of 10” drunk by the time Adele got there. Lawrence did a great Adele accent recounting the story:
In 2015, Lawrence first revealed she kissed Hemsworth on Watch What Happens Live. She said with a laugh, “Liam and I grew up together. Liam’s real hot. What would you have done?”
Cohen later quipped, “I mean, I pick Gale [Hemsworth’s Hungers Game character] over Peeta any day.”
“I did, at one point!” Lawrence said, and Cohen high-fived her.
