“Freddy’s Nightmares” on Screambox: Join Us TONIGHT for a Live-Tweet of Tobe Hooper’s ‘Elm Street’ Prequel!
As of last week, the 1980s anthology series “Freddy’s Nightmares” is now streaming on the Bloody Disgusting-powered Screambox streaming service, with all 44 episodes available now!
Screambox is currently the ONLY place you can officially watch the Robert Englund-hosted “Freddy’s Nightmares,” which to date has still never been released on DVD or Blu-ray.
Based on one of horror’s most storied franchises, “Freddy’s Nightmares” is an anthology series starring the original Freddy Krueger, Robert Englund. Airing from 1988 to 1990, each episode tells a different story of a dark rooted and grim nature that takes place in this fictitious town on Elm Street; the same setting as the A Nightmare on Elm Street films.
The series picks up where the Elm Street films left off, with Krueger terrorizing the citizens of his hometown and taking his revenge out through their dreams.
Of particular note, the pilot episode of the series, titled “No More Mr. Nice Guy”, acts as an official prequel to Wes Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) and was directed by the late Tobe Hooper (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Poltergeist). To celebrate “Freddy’s Nightmares” launching on Screambox, we’re live-tweeting that pilot tonight (2/26/22)!
The Twitter watch party will take place on Saturday, February 26 @ 5 PM PST / 8 PM EST, with Meagan Navarro and Diandra Lazor hosting the “Freddy’s Nightmares” event. Just make sure you’re following Meagan and Diandra, as well as @BDisgusting and @ScreamboxTV, and be sure to use the #FreddysNightmares if you’re live-tweeting with us.
