HBO’s Adaptation of ‘The Last Of Us’ to Begin Filming in Alberta This July
Craig Mazin‘s HBO adaptation of Naughty Dog’s The Last Of Us will begin shooting this summer in Alberta, Canada. According to a report by the CBC, production on the series will begin on July 5 in Calgary, and will wrap the following summer on June 8, 2022.
Reportedly, the production will be the largest in Canadian history. And depending on its success, could surpass the most profitable production in the country’s history in 2010’s Resident Evil: Afterlife, which grossed over $300 million.
Kantemir Balagov will be directing the pilot episode, while the series’ creator and writer Neil Druckmann is on board to co-write and produce. The Last Of Us will star Bella Ramsey as Ellie, with Pedro Pascal taking on the role of Joel.
