New ‘Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake’ Demo Coming This March [Trailer]

Ahead of Koei Tecmo and Team NINJA’s remake of Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly releasing this March, the teams will drop a demo on March 5 on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. In addition to the demo announcement, Koei Tecmo has released a new overview trailer for the remake of the 2003 original.

Progress saved in the demo will be carried over to the full game once it launches.

That’s not all Koei Tecmo had in store.  The publisher surprised everyone with the announcement of a collaboration with Konami’s Silent Hill f in the form of free DLC collaboration costumes. More details about the DLC are expected at a later time. And for Nintendo Switch 2 fans, physical pre-orders are now available at select retailers.

Fans can now pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes the base game, the Digital Soundtrack and Digital Art Book, as well as the Digital Deluxe Bonus Set featuring the Deluxe Charm and costumes for Mio and Mayu. A Digital Deluxe Upgrade is also available separately. Players who purchase a physical or digital version of the game before March 25 will receive the Wraith Charm, Peony Hair Ornament (Red) / Peony Hair Ornament (Blue), and Kimono (Red) / Kimono (Black) as early purchase bonuses.

Players who digitally pre-order the game before March 12 will receive the following: Spirit Charm, Cat Ears (White) / Cat Ears (Black), as well as the costumes Crimson Butterfly – Mio (Original) / Crimson Butterfly – Mayu (Original), inspired by outfits from the original game.

Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake will launch on March 12.
