Macon Blair’s ‘The Toxic Avenger’ Streams on Screambox This Week
After erasing over $15 million in medical debt with its theatrical run, The Toxic Avenger will stream exclusively on Screambox beginning this Thursday, January 8.
Produced by The Toxic Avenger creator Lloyd Kaufman, the fresh take on Troma’s 1984 cult classic is written and directed by Macon Blair (I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore).
In the unrated superhero horror comedy, downtrodden janitor Winston Gooze is exposed to a catastrophic toxic accident, transforming him into a mutant vigilante.
Toxie must rise from outcast to savior, taking on ruthless corporate overlords and corrupt forces who threaten his son, his friends, and his community.
Peter Dinklage (“Game of Thrones”) stars as Toxie, with Luisa Guerreiro (“The Witcher”) as the suit performer.
Jacob Tremblay (Doctor Sleep), Taylour Paige (“IT: Welcome to Derry”), Julia Davis (Phantom Thread), Jonny Coyne (“11.22.63”), Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings), and Kevin Bacon (Friday the 13th) also star.
The Toxic Avenger‘s San Diego Comic-Con panel is also on Screambox, along with the original Toxic Avenger and its three sequels.
Screambox is the largest streaming service dedicated to horror. Bloody Disgusting readers get an exclusive introductory offer of three months for a total of $6.66.
