‘FBI: Most Wanted’ Showrunner David Hudgins on What’s in Store for Rest of Season 6 Following Winter Premiere (Exclusive)

The winter premiere of FBI: Most Wanted may have set the tone for the rest of the season, and showrunner David Hudgins told PopCulture.com what’s up next for the procedural. The synopsis for the episode titled “Moving On” teases that the Fugitive Task Force “investigates a series of deadly fires involving the descendants of those involved with causing the infamous 1985 MOVE bombing in Philadelphia. Meanwhile, Nina’s sister turns to her in a time of need.”

With the team investigating the case, it was only a matter of time before they were involved in a shootout. And it came after an explosion which nearly killed two home daycare workers and a group of kids. They were trapped both in and around the house, and it kept the characters and viewers on the edge of their seats. Even six seasons in, Most Wanted still keeps the tension high, and Hudgins shared that that is the end goal.

“Our stunt team is fantastic when it comes to the choreography for chases and action sequences,” he explained via email. “We are constantly striving for that ‘edge of your seat’ moment in every takedown or chase.” The episode was as intense as ever, with plenty of jaw-dropping moments, whether one of the deadly fires or the shootout, and that wasn’t all that was intense.

The episode also included a shocking revelation about Hana. After the agent was ducking calls from boyfriend Ethan, she admitted to Barnes that the two had broken up. It was just a quick mention, but Hudgins says that fans “will see Hana and Ethan attempt to sort out their problems. It may be messy, but they still care for each other.”

Additionally, the episode brought Nina’s sister and dad back into the picture after she had a fallout with her father earlier in the season. At the end of the episode, her dad called her and she was surprised to hear from him, even though it was ultimately about her sister. Even though they are still not on great terms with each other, they are going to have to put their differences aside. “Regardless of how they feel about each other, Tink’s safety is the ultimate priority now,” Hudgins explained. “As they navigate that situation, you can expect some more bumps and complications for them as a family.”

It was revealed that Tink was in the hospital after getting into a fight with her boyfriend and it didn’t take long for Nina to decide she’s going to Houston. Hudgins teased it’s going to be a “balancing act,” and it will “prove to be challenging for her.” He continued, “Nina is in a tough situation. As an FBI agent, her instincts may not be the most delicate way to handle the situation.” She’s also not going to be the only one that is dealing with a lot for the remainder of the season, as Hudgins shared, “Our team members are all going to be faced with some big life choices this season. Family, careers, and relationships will all come to a breaking point in the back half of the season.”

There will be a lot to look forward to as Season 6 of FBI: Most Wanted and it’s unpredictable as to what will go down. Tune in on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS to see what happens next on FBI: Most Wanted.
