Country Artists Who Are Grandparents [Pictures]

There is a special role in life that quite a few people get to play, and that is the role of grandparent.

Some say being a grandfather or grandmother is better than being a parent, because you get to have all of the fun with the kids without having to deal with the more stressful aspects of raising a child.

For instance, you can bake them cookies without having to cope with the consequences of a sugar rush. You can buy them all of the noisy toys they want at the store without hearing those beeps, songs and sirens at all hours of the night. In other words, you get to say yes to your grandchildren more than you did your own kids.

We’d argue that some people would much rather skip to grandparent status, but parenthood is a sweet season that can’t be overlooked.

There are a handful of country artists who are currently experiencing the joy of being a grandparent. In addition to their own kids, they get the pleasure of being a part of yet another generation on the family tree.

For artists like Alan Jackson and Amy Grant, the title of grandparent is relatively new. Most of these singers are still young in their own right, and only just recently saw their babies have babies of their own in the last few years.

And then there’s Willie Nelson. At the age of 91, the country veteran has been a grandpa for many years. In fact, he not only has grandkids, but he has great-grandchildren as well.
