Kelsea Ballerini Books Madison Square Garden for a Special Show
Kelsea Ballerini’s album release show for her upcoming Patterns album is more than just a concert: It’s a special tribute to the role New York, N.Y. played in her album.
The singer announced a show — set for the city’s heralded Madison Square Garden — with a social media video celebrating the sights of New York City.
In the video, Ballerini and her dog Dibs touch down in New York via helicopter, passing by landmarks like the Empire State Building, the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty.
“The whole time I was making this album, I was visualizing and dreamscaping ways to bring it to life for our live show,” she explains in the caption.
“In one of my favorite cities that is landmarked heavily in the music and visuals of Patterns, I’m so giddy to be celebrating this album release one night only at MADISON SQUARE GARDEN.”
Patterns is due out on Oct. 25, and the album release show will follow four days later, on Oct. 29. Tickets go on sale on Sept. 12, but fans can snag their tickets via a presale starting on Monday (Sept. 9).
Heavily featured in the video is Dibs, who was recently diagnosed with heart cancer. Ballerini’s dog has been in the public eye for years — he’s even named after one of her hit songs — and fans have been heartbroken at the news right along with the singer.
“We filmed this a few weeks before we learned about Dibby’s diagnosis, which makes this announcement even more emotional and sentimental,” Ballerini explains in her show announcement post. “He sure did love getting to frolick around NYC and put his happy spirit into MSG to get it ready for us all.”
Dibs is currently undergoing treatment, though Ballerini has said that his cancer is “inoperable,” and that she hopes treatment will make sure he has “as many comfortable and happy days (weeks, months) left as possible.”

Kelsea Ballerini is taking fans inside the dazzling modern farmhouse that she now calls home in Nashville. The singer’s new residence is filled with colorful furniture and bold-print wallpaper that she calls “maximalist,” but it’s also set on a piece of land big enough for her dog, Dibs, to have some room to roam.
