Carrie Underwood Soaks Up the Sun in Hawaii

Over the weekend, Carrie Underwood played her first-ever shows in Hawaii — and she made sure to have some fun in the sun while she was in town.

The singer shared several social media snaps featuring herself and her band frolicking by the water during their downtime. The crew rocked matching Hawaiian shirts and posed for beachside photos: They even made a human pyramid in one shot.

“Don’t mind us, folks. We’re just out here living our best lives!” Underwood wrote in the caption of one shot. “No band mates were harmed in the taking of these pictures!”

Meanwhile, another post shows the crew showing off their outfits on their day off, with each band mate posing for a close-up in a “fit check” video.

It seems that Underwood’s husband, former NHL pro Mike Fisher, also got in on the Hawaiian fun. In one Instagram Stories photo, the singer shared a selfie of herself and Fisher enjoying the local fare. In the picture, Underwood and her husband are rocking matching leis, while the singer also wears a flower crown.

It was a working vacation for Underwood and her team in Hawaii: The star played her first-ever concerts in the state at Honolulu’s Neal S. Blaisdell Arena on Friday (July 19) and Saturday (July 20.)

According to local channel KHON2, Underwood was feted with a special honor when she arrived in the state. Hawaiian governor Josh Green, MD proclaimed July 18 as Carrie Underwood Day in Hawaii.

“Your music, kindness and your remarkable journey, and your unwavering dedication to making the world, and Hawaii this week, a better place, have touched countless hearts here in Hawaii,” Green said during the. ceremony. “We are truly blessed to have you bring your extraordinary live experience to the people of Hawaii for the very first time.”

After her first show in the state, Underwood shared a recap from night one in Hawaii, saying, “I’ve consulted with the band and we all agree that this is the loudest crowd we’ve ever played for!”

Underwood has been keeping busy on the road so far this summer, and she’s also been checking in with fans to share her yields from her vegetable garden. She’s set for a hometown show in Nashville, Tenn. at the end of this month.
