George Strait Breaks Record Held Since 1977
George Strait had thousands flocking to College Station, Texas, to attend the largest ticketed concert in United States history. The last time this was accomplish was by the Grateful Dead when they performed in front of 107,019 people at Raceway Park in New Jersey in 1977.
On Saturday (June 15) 110,905 people filled the Texas A&M University football stadium to catch a glimpse of the king of country.
According to Setlist.fm, Strait opened with a Rodney Crowell cover, “Stars on the Water.” The singer billed an impressive 31 songs, including five hits during his encore. The country legend flexed his memorable hit catalogue with songs like “Check Yes or No” and “Here for a Good Time.”
“We got some Aggie’s out there? Oh yeah! I’m ashamed to say this, but this is my first time to ever be in Kyle Field… damn,” he says to the crowd. “Just invite me back, I’ll come!”
Kyle Field is home to Texas A&M University where Texas natives Parker McCollum and Katie Offerman opened for the singer.
In addition to opening up for such a country music legend, the soon dad-to-be celebrated his birthday backstage with wife Hallie Ray, family, crew and friends.

Also in attendance was Texas Gov. Greg Abbott.
“Unbelievable concert by the King, George Strait,” Abbott wrote on X. “Largest packed house for a concern in America. Ever.”
Prior to his main show, Strait gave fans a special treat, debuting two new songs (“MIA in MIA” and “The Little Things”) from his forthcoming album “Cowboys and Dreamers.” This album is set for Sept. 6.
This milestone adds to his many other bolstering career notches. According to Billboard, the singer has the most No.1 hits of any artist in any genre. He is the only artist to chart a Top 10 hit every 30 years, and hold the most No.1 albums, gold albums and platinum albums in the genre of country music.

George Strait has sold his one-of-a-kind mansion in Texas, and it was actually a real deal. The country legend asked $6.9 million for his 7,925-square-foot home that includes three bedrooms, four full bathrooms and two half-baths on a hilltop in a very exclusive area of San Antonio. The final selling price was not disclosed.
The house sits on 12.2 acres and includes a gourmet kitchen, separate his and her bathrooms and closets and 14 hand-sculpted masonry fireplaces. The main house is wired for surround sound throughout, and it also features outdoor living spaces including a patio with built-in grill, sink, icemaker and refrigerator. There’s also an infinity pool/spa and a sports court, a workout room with a private bathroom and sauna, and a walk-in safe room.
