Dua Lipa, Chris Stapleton Release ‘Think I’m in Love With You’ Duet

The pair delivered the surprise duet of the Higher track at the 2024 ACM Awards

Chris Stapleton and Dua Lipa have officially released their duet “Think I’m In Love With You” from the 2024 ACM Awards.

The two musicians both confirmed the arrival of the live single on social media Monday, May 20. The original performance took place just last week, when Lipa surprised the ACM crowd by taking the stage solo and singing a few bars of the Higher track, before Stapleton, his band, and a 13-piece string section joined her on stage.

In an interview right after the performance, Lipa revealed it was her idea to put the performance together. “I’m such a fan of Chris and I just reached out and said, ‘Want to do something together?’ And this came about,” she told Bobby Bones backstage at the show.

Stapleton shared a few more details in a subsequent interview with Entertainment Tonight, noting that while he and Lipa had discussed the collaboration for some time, they only got together to practice the performance a few days before showtime.

“I think she threw herself into the mix,” Stapleton said. “We got on the phone and talked about it and worked on it a little bit. We really only kind of put together what we did like two days ago… It was kind of a whirlwind of a thing to do — but it was awesome.”

Stapleton released Higher last summer, and he’s got a busy spring and summer ahead with tour dates scheduled throughout North America. That part of the trek is set to end in early October with a headlining set at Austin City Limits, after which he’ll head over to the U.K. and Ireland for a handful of shows, followed by an Australian and New Zealand tour in early 2025.

As for Lipa, the recent Rolling Stone cover star just released her third album, Radical Optimism, which follows 2020’s Future Nostalgia. She’ll spend much of the summer playing festival gigs around Europe but does have one U.S. date on the books: Austin City Limits, where maybe she’ll reunite with Stapelton for another surprise duet.
