‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Pat Sajak Confirms Final Show Date

The longtime gameshow host will pack it up after a final show on June 7

Wheel Of Fortune‘s beloved longtime host Pat Sajak will host his final show on June 7, according to TVLine on Friday. His final sign off will coincide with the season 41 finale.

Sajak confirmed in June of 2023 that he’d be retiring after one final season, concluding a 40-year run as host. Throughout his career on the show, Sajak won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Gameshow Host in 1993, 1997, and 1998.

“Well, the time has come,” he wrote on X/Twitter. “I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,” he wrote. “It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all. (If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!)”

Weeks after the announcement, Ryan Seacrest announced that he would replace Sajak for the following season.

“I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak,” Seacrest said at the time. “I can say, along with the rest of America, that it’s been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them. “Pat, I love the way you’ve always celebrated the contestants and made viewers at home feel at ease. I look forward to learning everything I can from you during this transition.”

While Sajak is stepping down as host, he will continue to work with the show as a consultant for the following three years, Suzanne Prete, executive vice president of game shows for Sony Pictures Television, said when Sajak announced his retirement.
