Taylor Swift Blocks Travis Kelce From Top Spot on Vinyl Chart
Singer in attendance again Sunday to watch Kansas City Chiefs take on New England Patriots
With Taylor Swift in the stadium Sunday to watch boyfriend Travis Kelce play football again, it appears there’s no bad blood between the couple after Swift kept Travis and brother Jason Kelce off the top of the vinyl albums chart this week.
The vinyl version of the Philadelphia Eagles’ surprise hit Christmas collection A Philly Special Christmas — featuring the Kelce brothers’ “Fairytale of Philadelphia,” a rendition of the Shane MacGowan classic — landed at Numbers Two (for the deluxe edition) and Three (for the 2023 edition) on the Billboard Vinyl Charts. The album blocking them from an unlikely Number One: 1989 (Taylor’s Version), which racked up a sixth consecutive week atop that chart.
Sunday’s game versus the New England Patriots in Foxboro, Massachusetts marks the third straight Chiefs game — and seventh overall this season — Swift has attended now that the 2023 leg of The Eras Tour has come to an end. Last Sunday, she journeyed to Kansas City to witness what was not a great outcome for her boyfriend and the home team. During the broadcast, announcer Tony Romo erroneously called Swift Kelce’s “wife” before he corrected himself.
For Sunday’s game, Swift brought along her buddy Alana Haim of Haim. Kelce and the Chiefs, coming off two straight losses with Swift in the crowd, will look to right the ship Sunday in Foxboro.
