Black Demon trailer

From Rambo: Last Blood director Adrian GrünbergThe Black Demon will release exclusively in theaters on April 28. In the film, Josh Lucas battles a giant Megalodon shark.

“When oilman Paul Sturges takes his family to Bahia Negra, the crown jewel of Baja and the site of Paul’s best-performing rig, the vibrant Mexican coastal town he once knew has mysteriously crumbled. In the decrepit ghost town, the last inhabitants tell Paul the offshore platform has awoken ‘El Demonio.’ Scared to be left alone, the family follows Paul out to the platform and just after they get on, the man and boat that risked bringing them is ferociously attacked by a massive black shark. This shark is unlike any other creature; a shark of legend, known as The Black Demon. It has laid claim to the local waters aggressively protecting mother nature against human threats. It kills everything and repeatedly charges the oil rig itself, threatening to destroy it. Paul and his family are stranded with the few men who have survived and now discover explosive charges have been set on the legs of the platform.

“Under constant attack by the giant monster and with the time literally ticking away, Paul must find a way to somehow get his family back to shore alive.”

Josh Lucas (The Forever Purge) stars alongside Fernanda Urrejola (Cry Macho) and Julio Cesar Cedillo (Sicario). Check out the first image above and expect more soon.

Sisu

Writer/Director Jalmari Helander (Rare Exports, Big Game) is back with Lionsgate’s Sisu, an ultra-violent genre movie that’s also coming to movie theaters on Friday, April 28.

This time, Helander reteams with Rare Exports actor Jorma Tommila for one epic and hyper-violent period adventure through the wilderness of Lapland in Northern Finland.

“During the last desperate days of WWII, a solitary prospector crosses paths with Nazis on a scorched-earth retreat in northern Finland.  When the Nazis steal his gold, they quickly discover that they have just tangled with no ordinary miner. While there is no direct translation for the Finnish word “sisu”, this legendary ex-commando will embody what sisu means: a white-knuckled form of courage and unimaginable determination in the face of overwhelming odds. And no matter what the Nazis throw at him, the one-man death squad will go to outrageous lengths to get his gold back – even if it means killing every last Nazi in his path.”

Sisu also stars Jack DoolanMimosa Willamo, and Onni Tommila.

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review for Bloody Disgusting, “Sisu feels like a gritty actioner of yesteryear but with a modern sense of style. Helander manages to keep progressing this bloody battle in surprising ways. When you think you’ve reached a showstopper action sequence or gory kill, expect another to come along to top it.”
