Beyoncé Posts Rare, Intimate Photo of Her and Kids Sir, Rumi, and Blue Ivy Carter Before ‘Renaissance’ Release

Beyoncé’s new music era begins tomorrow with the release of Renaissance: Act I. And in the hours before the drop, Beyoncé offered just a little taste of what this new project has to offer, along with an intimate look at her and her children 10-year-old Blue Ivy and 5-year-old twins Sir and Rumi Carter.

The singer posted a letter on her site, introducing fans to the project and thanking her family, friends, and more for their help with it. Alongside the note appeared a new photo of her with her kids, lying in bed.

“This three act project was recovered over the pandemic,” Bey wrote. “A time to be still, but also a time to be the most creative. Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world. It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgement, a place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking, a place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration.”

She went on to shout out her children explicitly, along with her spouse Jay-Z. “I want to give a special thanks to Rumi, Sir, and Blue for allowing me the space, creativity, and inspiration, and a special thanks to my beautiful husband and muse, who held me down during those late nights in the studio,” she wrote.
