Britney Spears’ sister Jamie Lynn tearfully breaks silence on ‘rift’ in emotional interview

Jamie Lynn Spears is appearing on Good Morning America to discuss her “rift” with sister and pop superstar Britney Spears.
The former child actor opened up about her strained relationship with her sister in a preview of the Wednesday (12 January) interview, set to coincide with the release of her memoir, Things I Should Have Said.
“I love my sister,” Jamie Lynn Spears, 30, tearfully told anchor JuJu Chang in the clip.
“But things have gotten complicated?” Chang probed. “I guess so,” Jamie Lynn replied.
In the full interview – the first given by a member of the Spears family since Britney’s conservatorship ended – Chang asks Jamie Lynn: “What has caused this rift between you?” and: “What do you regret not saying?”

Britney has spoken out against her sister, mother and father since breaking her silence on the conservatorship that governed her life for almost 14 years.
While the worst criticism has been reserved for her father Jamie Spears, who played an instrumental role in the legal arrangement and who she has accused of conservatorship abuse, Britney has accused her mother Lynne Spears of “ruining her life” by giving Jamie the idea in the first place.
The star has said that her sister “hurt her deeply”.
in July, she hit out at her “so-called support system”.
“I don’t like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes,” Britney wrote.
“My so-called support system hurt me deeply! This conservatorship killed my dreams… so all I have is hope and hope is the only thing in this world that is very hard to kill… yet people still try!”
She made a not-so-veiled poke at Jamie Lynn in October, amid fan backlash to the original title to her autobiography, I Must Confess: Family, Fame and Figuring it Out, a reference to Britney’s 1998 classic, “…Baby One More Time”.
“Great news … I’m thinking of releasing a book next year,” the singer posted. “But I’m having issues coming up with a title, so maybe my fans could help!!!
“Option one, ‘S**t, I don’t really know’… Option two… ‘I really care what people think ‘!!!!”
“This message is to my family,” she added on Instagram in October, “for hurting me deeper than you’ll ever know.”
The 40-year-old has described across social media posts and in court how she felt trapped in the complex legal arrangement that placed her personal and financial affairs in the power of others, chiefly her father Jamie Spears.
Throughout the saga, Jamie Lynn remained silent. She later stressed that it “wasn’t [her] place” and was in her family’s best interests to not speak publicly at the time.
Britney unfollowed her sister on Instagram earlier this month.
