Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes Were Photographed Together Again, Walking Their Dog in Miami
Recent exes Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello started the new year off together in Miami…and TMZ got video and photos of them walking their dog Tarzan in the former couple’s first public sighting since their November split.
Does it mark a potential reconciliation? Unclear for now, but Mendes and Cabello stressed their intention to remain friends in their breakup statement. They’ve both also talked about it being hard to be on social media following their split after two years of dating and have been supportive of each other on Instagram, liking the other’s posts. In Cabello’s case, she even liked Mendes’s Instagram about his breakup song seemingly about her, “It’ll Be Okay,” so she’s very supportive.

Mendes and Cabello started as friends years before they began dating in July 2019. The pair only released one Instagram Story announcing their split in late November. They wrote, “Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever ❤️ We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward ❤️❤️❤️”
A source told People at the end of November that the coronavirus pandemic really affected their trajectory as a couple. “They had this intense relationship last year and spent months together during the lockdown in Miami,” the source said. “They both seemed very happy and looked like they enjoyed having a break from working. Things are different now, though. It’s more back to normal life. They have careers that are taking them in different directions. They went from spending every day together to now not really spending any time together.”
Around the same time, a source told E! that Mendes “initiated the [breakup] conversation” with Cabello in early November. Although she was “very upset over the split,” she “agreed” it was for the best. They are “still in communication and want to be friends,” the source said. “[It] was not a bad breakup at all. The relationship was getting stale and complacent and they decided they are better off being friends.”
