This ‘Escape Room: Tournament of Champions’ Deleted Scene Puts ‘Orphan’ Star Isabelle Fuhrman Back into the Movie [Video]
Adam Robitel‘s sequel Escape Room: Tournament of Champions is coming home for Halloween, and as we learned last week, a new alternate version of the movie will be included.
With both Theatrical and Extended cuts, Tournament of Champions will be released digitally on September 21st, and it’s then coming to Blu-ray on October 5th.
As director Adam Robitel explains in his own words, “For fans of Escape Room… there are TWO versions of the movie to experience. The “extended cut” which should appropriately be called the “alternate cut”, has a whole bunch of cool mythology and behind the scenes of Minos. Isabelle Fuhrman is incredible and I’m glad this cut is getting its day in the sun.”
The “Extended Cut” will include 25-minutes of brand new footage, with an alternate beginning and ending. The Blu-ray art promises, “Game master exposed in extended cut.”
A clip from one of those brand new alternate scenes has been shared by The Wrap today, and it notably puts Orphan star Isabelle Fuhrman back into the movie. Fuhrman didn’t end up appearing in the film’s theatrical version, but it’s clear based on this clip that she’s a character who’s *very* important to the mythology of the franchise. Check it out down below…
“Escape Room: Tournament of Champions is the sequel to the box office hit psychological thriller that terrified audiences around the world. In this installment, six people unwittingly find themselves locked in another series of escape rooms, slowly uncovering what they have in common to survive…and discovering they’ve all played the game before.”
Taylor Russell and Logan Miller are back from Robitel’s first Escape Room, starring in the new movie alongside Indya Moore, Holland Roden, Thomas Cocquerel, and Carlito Olivero.
The sequel’s script was written by Will Honley and Oren Uziel and Maria Melnik & Daniel Tuch.
