Carjamin Scott, Ed.D., (she/her/Dr) is the speaker and bestselling author for “You are Accepted: How to Get Accepted into College and Life.”, She is known as The Education Equalizer.™ Dr. Scott is committed to equalizing and maximizing educational opportunities for students, particularly Black students. She specializes in streamlining the admissions process, and improving student retention while increasing college graduation rates.
Additionally, Dr. Scott consults with academic institutions to enhance areas of access and inclusion, diversity, equity, and overall student academic experience.
She currently serves as the Director of Admissions and Recruitment at a local HBCU in Nashville, TN. Under her leadership, the Office of Admissions and Recruitment has enrolled the highest number of first-time freshmen [within the last five years] in the history of the institution. Prior to her current role, she served at a top-ranked institution (PWI), a regional graduate school, and a number of trade colleges.
Dr. Scott launched Education Equalizers, LLC to consult with various stakeholders regarding college acceptance and completion. These individuals include parents, rising college students, higher education leadership, as well as community/corporate leaders.
Her newest book, “You are Accepted: How to Get Accepted into College and Life,” is available everywhere books are sold. The literary work chronicles nearly two decades of higher education experience and her success as a woman of color in leadership. Additionally, she candidly shares with readers the power of owning their story, even the most difficult aspects of it.
