Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Announce the Sex of Their Second Child
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry gave their explosive primetime interview to Oprah this evening. Meghan discussed everything from learning to curtsy just moments before meeting the queen to the “peace” she and Harry found at home in Montecito. Meghan even introduced Oprah to her dog, Guy, and and the chickens the couple recently rescued (they reside in “Archie’s Chick Inn, FYI). Prince Harry joined the interview later on and discussed their relationship and future career plans.
But by far the most exciting reveal of the evening came when the couple jointly revealed the sex of their second child. Archie’s officially going to have sister in a few months. The baby girl is due this summer.
“To have any one or any two, but to have a boy and then a girl—what more could you ask for?” Harry told Oprah. “But now we’ve got our family. We’ve got the four of us, we’ve got our two dogs. Done.”
“Done–two is it?” Oprah asked.
“Two is it,” Meghan reiterated.
Meghan revealed that they decided to find out the baby’s sex “this time,” implying the couple truly didn’t know whether they were having a boy or girl when Meghan was pregnant with Archie.
Meghan and Harry announced her second pregnancy on February 14, 2021. “We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother,” the couple said in a statement. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”
In October, the couple opened up about Archie adjusting to life in Montecito while speaking to the Evening Standard about their initiative to end systemic racism in the U.K. . “We are very lucky with our little one,” Meghan said. “He is just so busy, he is all over the place. He keeps us on our toes. We are just so lucky.”
